Monkey forest, rice terraces and sacred temple in Ubud with Eben

Discover the monkey forest, the Tegallalang rice terraces and the sacred temple of Tirta Empul with Eben Between a coffee plantation, Balinese flavours and meetings with local craftspeople, discover a more genuine side of Bali. Eben, your local driver, shapes the day around your pace and your wishes, for a privileged experience far from the usual tourist circuits.
The experience
What if your driver turned out to be one of the finest encounters of your trip?
With Eben, you are not booking simple transport. Based in Ubud, he knows his island by heart and loves sharing with travellers what no guidebook holds: the small addresses, the stories, the traditions you only really understand by living them with someone local.
What changes everything is the way he shapes the day around you. Want to stay somewhere longer? Skip a stop to spend more time on another? Eben adjusts. You are not on a fixed circuit shared with thirty strangers, but in a day built for you.
And because he is also a wood carver, he will open the doors to a more intimate Bali: the one of craftspeople, workshops, and know-how passed down through generations. Far from the usual tourist circuits.
A day of discovery, but above all an encounter.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a day with a private driver in Ubud cost?
The full day (roughly 8am to 6pm) costs €55 per vehicle, for one to four people: the price is for the vehicle, not per person. You book online with a small €5 deposit and settle the balance on the day.
What does the price include?
The price covers the full day with Eben, your private local driver: air-conditioned vehicle, pick-up and drop-off at your hotel (Ubud/Canggu area), parking, bottled water and personal advice throughout the day. Site entry tickets, lunch and optional activities (such as the swing) are paid directly on site.
Can the itinerary be personalised?
Yes, that is the whole point of a private trip. The programme (Tegalalang rice terraces, coffee plantation, Tirta Empul temple, Monkey Forest, craft workshops) acts as a thread, but Eben shapes the day around what you want: staying longer somewhere you love, skipping a stop or adding another.
How many people can join?
The trip is private, for up to four people, with a single price for the vehicle rather than per person. You do not share the day with any other travellers.
Should I bring cash in Bali?
Yes. Bring cash (Indonesian rupiah) for site entry tickets, lunch and anything you buy from craftspeople. Many small businesses and temples do not accept cards.
How should I dress to visit Balinese temples?
Respectful clothing (shoulders and knees covered) is recommended for visiting Tirta Empul temple. A sarong can be provided on site if needed. Also bring comfortable shoes, a hat and sun cream for the rest of the day.
Is the trip suitable for children?
Yes. The day works for most travellers and Eben adapts the pace to the group, which makes it ideal with family. Some stops are particular favourites with children, such as the Monkey Forest and the rice terrace swing (optional).
How do I get my booking confirmation?
As soon as the payment goes through, a confirmation email is sent automatically. It contains your booking reference, the full summary (date, option, travellers), the meeting point and the departure time. You will also find your booking in your account. Do check your spam folder if nothing seems to arrive.
Is the provider told about my booking?
Yes, automatically. As soon as the payment goes through, the local provider is contacted directly with your whole booking: date, time, chosen option, number of travellers, your name and your pick-up point. There is nothing for you to do. Their WhatsApp is in your confirmation email, so you can write to them before the day itself.
Is paying online secure?
Yes. Payments go through Stripe, one of the most widely used payment platforms in the world. Your card details never pass through the Lyluutravel site and are never stored there. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted.
