Frequently asked questions
Everything worth knowing before you set off.
My role
What exactly is your role?
I am the architect of your trip and your logistics ally. My aim is to take the whole mental load of planning off your shoulders so that only the best part is left for you: the pleasure of going. I design a one-off itinerary, track down the flights and places to stay that suit you, plan your activities and handle every technical detail (visas, health, transport). Unlike an agency, I don't sell standard packages: I build a tailor-made adventure where you keep control of your own bookings while benefiting from my expertise.
Why go through you rather than organise the trip myself?
To save time, energy and peace of mind. Planning a full trip takes a lot of thought, a lot of energy and dozens of hours of research. Going through me buys you the certainty of forgetting nothing, and the benefit of my expertise as a certified professional. I know how to spot the traps, optimise the routes and unearth gems you would not find on your own.
Why does your travel advisor certification matter?
It is your guarantee of professionalism. It means I have been trained in the legal, technical and safety aspects of tourism. This is not a hobby, it is my job. It lets me give you reliable answers on transport contracts, insurance and international regulations.
Budget & bookings
How does it actually work for money and bookings?
Complete transparency. I am not an agency, so no money meant for your bookings ever passes through me. Once we have validated your project together, I send you every secure booking link. You pay the providers directly (airlines, hotels and so on). That guarantees you pay the real price, with no hidden fees, and that you stay the owner of your travel documents.
Do your services work for smaller budgets?
My job is to make every euro count. We set your overall envelope right at the start, and I make sure to stay within it. My experience often makes smart savings possible (choice of transport, when to book) so you can afford better experiences without going over budget.
Personalisation & trip content
Is everything really customisable?
Yes, entirely. I have no catalogue of hotels or ready-made itineraries. Every project starts from a blank page. Whether you lean towards local immersion, quiet luxury or sporty adventure, we adjust the itinerary, the stops and the activities until you think: this is exactly what I was dreaming of.
Do you also find the activities on the ground?
That is the heart of personalisation. I don't just find you a hotel. I look for experiences that mean something to you: meeting a craftsperson, a hidden hike, or a local cooking class. I plan your schedule around your own pace: we can fill the days or leave room for doing nothing, it is your call.
What is in the travel book?
It is your personalised bible. It holds your detailed day-by-day itinerary, your booking confirmations, practical advice (currency, language, customs), your health and visa information and my own good addresses. It comes in both digital and paper form.
Safety, hiccups & support
Do you also help with visas and health questions?
Absolutely. My training as a travel advisor lets me guide you through the administrative jungle. I check visa requirements, passport validity and health recommendations (vaccines, local precautions) for you. I do the legwork so that nothing catches you out at boarding.
What if something goes wrong once I am there?
I stay reachable. My support does not stop when you receive your travel book. If you have a doubt, a question or a logistics problem on the ground, you can reach me to be reassured and to find quick solutions. I am your point of contact before, during and after your trip.
With the news being what it is (wars, strikes, cancellations), is it risky to travel?
The world is unpredictable, and that is precisely where my role makes sense. If a conflict breaks out, a border closes or an airline cancels its flights, I am there. I keep an eye on the geopolitical situation so I can steer you towards the safest destinations. My job is to anticipate the risks and, if something does go wrong, to handle it alongside you: finding alternatives, keeping costs down and managing the unexpected. You are never alone facing a crisis.
Specific needs & contact
Do you organise trips for people with disabilities?
Yes, it is a subject close to my heart and one I have been trained for. I look closely at every stage (accessibility of transport, accommodation and activities) to guarantee a smooth, untroubled stay suited to your specific needs.
How do we know we will get along on the project?
It all starts with a conversation. I need to listen to you to understand what you want and what worries you. I am passionate, deeply involved, and my ultimate aim is to help you make a dream happen. If you are looking for someone human, responsive and professional, for whom your trip matters as much as if it were their own, then we are made to work together.
Honeymoons & proposals
Do you organise marriage proposals?
Yes, and it is probably my favourite thing to organise. It is a unique moment that calls for absolute discretion and millimetre-perfect logistics. I help you find the ideal spot, whether spectacular or intimate, and I coordinate the details with my contacts on the ground (flowers, photographer, private dinner) so that you have only one thing left to handle: how you feel.
What do you offer for a honeymoon?
For a honeymoon, people are usually after something exceptional. I make sure the trip lives up to the occasion. Beyond choosing romantic destinations, I work on the small touches: upgrades where possible, experiences just for the two of you, and a pace that really lets you reconnect. A trip without a single logistical false note.
Events, gifts & gift cards
Can you organise a stag or hen trip?
Organising a trip for a group of friends is a coordination challenge. My role is to make sure the planning does not rest on one person's shoulders. I help you find the right balance between everyone's budget, the activities people want and the logistics (group-friendly accommodation, shared transport, bookings). I secure the whole thing so the best man, maid of honour and friends can actually enjoy the event, without juggling surprises or last-minute searches once they arrive.
Can I give a trip or a planning service as a gift?
Absolutely. I have created Lyluu Travel gift cards. You have two options: The turnkey trip: we organise everything together beforehand and you give the travel book ready to use. The planning gift card: you offer my service, and I then build the tailor-made trip directly with whoever received the gift. The ideal present when you want to be sure you have got it right.
